Abstract
Diese Arbeit befasste sich mit der Erzählung Der Sandmann von E.T.A. Hoffmann. Es werden die Horrorelemente und Motive, die auf einen Horror hinweisen untersucht. Die Arbeit ist auf den theoretischen Teil und die Analyse aufgeteilt. Im theoretischen Teil wird E.T.A. Hoffmann, als einer der Vertrete der Horrorliteratur vorgestellt und die Schauerromantik mit ihren Eigenschaften erklärt. In der Analyse werden alle Motive aus der Erzählung angegeben und aufgrund dessen werden die Horrorelemente erprobt und analysiert. Anhand von vielen Beispielen wird festgestellt, dass Der Sandmann zur Horrorliteratur gehört.
