Abstract
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Roman Das unsichtbare Leben der Addie LaRue der Autorin Victoria Elizabeth Schwab mit Goethes Faust verglichen, um Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten beider Werke festzustellen. Einführend wird der Inhalt von Goethes Faust und Schwabs Roman kurz wiedergegeben, wonach der zentrale, vergleichende Teil der Arbeit folgt. Darin werden Motive analysiert, die in beide Werken vorkommen, um von da aus Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten in der Struktur beider Werke sowie in Bezug auf deren Handlungspersonal zu identifizieren. Abschließend wird die Art und Weise, auf die Schwab Elemente aus Goethes Faust-Drama in ihren Roman übernommen hat, besprochen, wobei zugleich festgestellt wird, inwiefern Schwab Roman trotz der Rückgriffe auf Goethes Werk ein literarisches Werk für sich ist.
Abstract (croatian)
U radu se uspoređuje roman Nevidljivi život Addie LaRue autorice Victorie Elisabeth Schwab i Goetheov Faust, kako bi se na taj način ustanovile razlike i sličnosti koje se pojavljuju u oba djela. Uvodno se predstavlja sadržaj Goetheova Fausta te Schwabina romana, nakon čega slijedi središnji dio roda, njegov komparativni dio. U tom se dijelu analiziraju motivi koji se pojavljuju u oba djela, kako bi se na temelju toga ustanovile sličnosti i razlike u njihovoj strukturi, stilu i repertoaru likova. Naposljetku se ukazuje na način na koji je Schwab preuzela pojedine elemente iz Fausta i ugradila u svoj roman, pri čemu se ujedno ustanovljuje i u koliko je mjeri njezin roman samosvojno djelo, i to bez obzira na njena posezanja za Goetheovim djelom kao motivskim predloškom.
