Abstract
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati odnos dimenzija doživljaja bolesti i prihvaćanja bolesti kod osoba oboljelih od hashimoto tireoiditisa kao i moderatorsku ulogu stresa u tom odnosu. U istraživanju su sudjelovale ukupno 432 sudionice u dobi između 20 i 70 godina. Za ispitivanje doživljaja bolesti koristio se Skraćeni upitnik percepcije bolesti, za mjerenje razine stresa vezane uz životne događaje koristila se Revidirana skala životnih događaja, a za mjerenje prihvaćanja bolesti koristio se Upitnik prihvaćanja kronične bolesti. Provedenim hijerarhijskim regresijskim analizama utvrđeno je kako visoka razina kognitivne i emotivne reprezentacije doprinose niskom prihvaćanju bolesti s tim da emotivna reprezentacija pokazuje veći doprinos kriterijskoj varijabli. Također, razumijevanje bolesti nije statistički značajno povezano s prihvaćanjem bolesti. Utvrđeno je kako stres nije moderator odnosa između doživljaja bolesti i prihvaćanja bolesti.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between the dimensions of illness perception and acceptance of illness in patients with Hashimoto Thyroiditis, as well as a moderating role of stress in that relationship. The study included the total number of 432 female participants between 20 and 70 years of age. Illness perception was measured with Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, the stress level related to life events was assessed using the Social Readjustment Rating Scale – Revised, while the acceptance of illness was assessed using the Chronic Illness Acceptance Questionnaire. The conducted hierarchical regression analyses have shown that cognitive and emotional representations contribute to low level of acceptance of illness, whereby the emotional representation has proven to be a stronger contributor to the criterion variable. Furthermore, the understanding of illness has no statistically significant correlation with acceptance of illness. It has been established that stress does not moderate the relationship between illness perception and acceptance of illness.
