Abstract
Rad se bavi cjelokupnom analizom publicističkog funkcionalnog stila. Publicistički stil svojom tematskom raznorodnošću prodire u sva područja života te je na početku rada stavljen taj stil u kontekst s ostalim stilovima gdje se navode sličnosti i razlike funkcionalnih stilova. Potom se prikazuje leksička razina publicističkog stila, koja je upravo tematska okosnica ovoga rada. Kako je hrvatski standardni jezik u posljednjih dvadeset godina na velikom udaru kritike o jezičnom purizmu, rad pogovara o pitanju i problemu purizma devedesetih godina koji je poseban jer uz sebe nosi pitanje leksičke dopuštenosti tuđica. Budući da postoje velike nedoumice u vezi s tuđicama, posuđenicama i usvojenicama, rad jasno definira svaku od njih postavljajući primjere i poneke probleme s kojima se susreću govornici. Zadnje poglavlje donosi konkretne primjere iz publicistike koji brane teorijsku tvrdnju rada. Ispod svakog primjera je detaljno rječničko objašnjenje i analiza pogriješaka.
