Abstract	Subtitling is a form of audiovisual translation and increasingly growing in both importance and demand. First, a short introduction to audiovisual translation is illustrated as well as the theoretical background required for subtitling. Next, the Croatian subtitles of the movie In the Loop have been analyzed for correctness and appropriateness and alternative translations were attempted. Lastly, a survey has been done in order to shed light on the familiarity of the Croatian audience with British culture-specific concepts.
