Abstract
Cilj je ovog rada je provjeriti odnos između samopoštovanja, optimizma te kvalitetom života studenata. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 143 studenta Filozofskog fakulteta u Osijeku (23 muškog i 120 ženskog spola). Za ispitivanje kvalitete života koristio se Indeks osobne kvalitete života čiji su autori međunarodna grupa za istraživanje kvalitete života, za ispitivanje samopoštovanja koristila se Rosenbergova skala samopoštovanja, dok se optimizam ispitivao na revidiranom testu životne orijentacije. Na indeksu osobne kvalitete života studenti najviši rezultat postižu na domeni odnos s bližnjima, dok najmanji rezultat postižu na domenama sigurnosti u budućnost i životni standard. Prema prvoj hipotezi očekuje se značajna pozitivna povezanost između samopoštovanja, optimizma i kvalitete života studenata. Rezultati su potvrdili prvu hipotezu, te je utvrđeno da je koeficijent korelacije između samopoštovanja i kvalitete života nešto veći nego između optimizma i kvalitete života. Druga hipoteza pretpostavlja da će kvaliteti života značajno doprinositi i samopoštovanje i optimizam. Rezultati hijerarhijske regresijske analize potvrđuju i drugu hipotezu, pri čemu se samopoštovanje, koje objašnjava 41,1% ukupne varijance kvalitete života, pokazalo kao bolji prediktor od optimizma, koji objašnjava 28.4% ukupne varijance.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between self-esteem, optimism and quality of life of students. The study included 143 students of the Faculty of Philosophy in Osijek (23 males and 120 females). To test the quality of life was used Personal Well-being Index (PWI) by International Well-being Group. To test self-esteem using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE), while optimism is questioned on the revised Life Orientation Test (LOT-R). On the Personal Well-being Index, the highest score achieved by students in the area of relations with neighbors, while the lowest score achieved on the domains of security in the future and living standards. According to the first hypothesis is expected to be a significant positive correlation between self-esteem, optimism and quality of life for students. The results confirmed the first hypothesis, and found that the correlation between self-esteem and quality of life is bigger than between optimism and quality of life. The second hypothesis assumes that both self-esteem and optimism would significantly contribute to the quality of life. Results of hierarchical regression analysis confirmed the second hypothesis, in which self-esteem, which explains 41.1% of the total variance in the quality of life is a better predictor then optimism, explaining 28.4% of the total variance.
