Abstract
In dieser Abschlussarbeit wird die Thematik der Dystopie am Beispiel von Walter Moers Buch Die Stadt der träumenden Bücher bearbeitet. Die Hypothese der Abschlussarbeit ist, dass in einer dystopischen Welt der dystopische Raum und die Angst in Zusammenhang stehen. Ohne Angst kann der Raum nicht dystopisch sein. Mit der Analyse des Romans wird versucht zu erklären was und warum den Raum dystopisch macht, was auch an Beispielen von Zitaten bestätigt wird. Die theoretischen Begriffe wurden mit Hilfe der Sekundärliteratur erläutert: Dystopie, Angst und Phobien. Ein Raum an sich selbst kann dystopisch sein (zum Beispiel, wenn er morbid aussieht oder voll von Knochen oder Leichen ist), aber dieser im Roman ist noch mit verschiedenen Kreaturen, tödlichen Büchern und Bücherjägern ergänzt. Diese Wesen verursachen verschiedene Phobien und mehr Angst, was die dystopische Atmosphäre verstärkt.
