Abstract
Ovo kvalitativno istraživanje provedeno je kao dio istraživačkog projekta „Pozitivna i negativna iskustva na internetu – digitalni svijet u kontekstu pandemije“ u svrhu razumijevanja različitih iskustava mladih tijekom korištenja interneta. Cilj ovog rada bio je pribaviti negativna iskustva osnovnoškolaca u digitalnom okruženju. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 19 učenika osnovnih škola u dobi od 11 do 15 godina (od 5. do 8. razreda). U svrhu prikupljanja podataka korišten je polustrukturirani intervju. Osnovnoškolci su izvještavali o vlastitim i vršnjačkim iskustvima doživljenog kontakta s nepoznatim osobama na internetu te nasilja na internetu, konkretnije vrijeđanja i ismijavanja na društvenim mrežama i u internetskim igrama, objavljivanja sramotnih sadržaja od strane drugih osoba bez njihova pristanka, susreta s lažnim profilima te prijetnji fizičkim nasiljem. Zbog nasilja na internetu, neprimjerenih sadržaja na društvenim mrežama te prilikom igranja internetskih igara, sudionici su nerijetko doživljavali negativne emocije poput srama, gađenja i ljutnje. Također, oni koji su prekomjerno koristili internet izvještavali su i o negativnim fizičkim simptomima, obiteljskim i prijateljskim konfliktima, zakazivanju u školskim i kućanskim obavezama te lošem raspoloženju kada im internet nije bio dostupan. Što se tiče negativnih strana nastave na daljinu, osnovnoškolci su izvještavali o tehničkim problemima, padu u koncentraciji i motivaciji, prevelikom opsegu obaveza, manjku usvojenog gradiva te nedostatku socijalne interakcije s vršnjacima.
Abstract (english)
This qualitative research was conducted as a part of the research project „Positive and negative experiences on the Internet – digital world in context of the pandemic” in order to understand different experiences of young people whilst using the Internet. The objective of this paper was to gather negative experiences of primary school students in digital environment. The study involved 19 primary school students aged 11 to 15 (from 5th to 8th grade). A semi-structured interview was used for the data collection purposes. Primary school students shared their own and peer experiences regarding contact with strangers on the Internet and cyberbullying, specifically name-calling and teasing on social media and in online games, posting embarrassing content without consent, encounters with fake profiles and threats of physical violence. Due to cyberbullying, inappropriate content on social media and while playing online games, participants have often experienced numerous negative emotions such as shame, disgust and anger. Additionally, those who were overusing the Internet reported negative physical symptoms, conflicts with family and friends, slacking in schoolwork and housework along with being in a bad mood when the Internet was not available to them. Regarding negative aspects of distance learning, primary school students reported technical issues, decreased concentration and motivation, too many obligations, effective learning deficiency and lack of social interaction with peers.
