Abstract
Roman Ime ruže, autora Umberta Eca je filozofsko-kriminalistički roman s uokvirenom fabulom i prstenastom strukturom. Detektivska okosnica romana predstavlja prvu razinu značenja, a očituje se kroz ustrojstvo fabule, misteriozna ubojstva i model istrage. Druga razina značenja o kojoj rad govori istražuje filozofske i epistemološke premise, modele spoznaje, te dualizam duha i tijela, a otkriva se u traganju za zabranjenom univerzalnom istinom realiziranoj u fingiranoj drugoj knjizi Aristotelove Poetike. Intertekstualnost i metatekstualnost eksplicitno ukazuju na narativni kod ovog postmodernističkog romana u kojem je ključni proces propitivanje filozofije, znanosti i ideologije. Filozofsko sjecište romana očituje se kroz utjecaj kartezijanskog dualizma u formiranju individualnog i kulturološkog identifikacijskog konstrukta. Naglasak je na funkciji metafore kao sredstvu posredovanja istine.
