Abstract
Iako su intelektualne slobode odnosno slobodan pristup informacijama i pravo na izražavanje mišljenja zakonsko pravo svakog pojedinca, u suvremenim društvima postoje određene skupine kojima je to pravo uskraćeno ili ograničeno. U ovom se radu problematiziraju informacijske potrebe i čitateljske navike zatvorenika, kao specifične društveno isključene skupine, koja ima specifične informacijske potrebe, ali i otežan pristup informacijama i građi za čitanje. U radu se predstavljaju rezultati istraživanja o informacijskim potrebama i načinima dolaženja do informacija hrvatskih zatvorenika te o njihovim čitateljskim navikama. Istraživanje je provedeno kvantitativnom metodom (pomoću tiskanog upitnika) na uzorku od 504 ispitanika u 6 kaznionica. Na temelju provedenog istraživanja daju se preporuke o tome kako se zatvorenicima može olakšati dolaženje do informacija te se upućuje na vrstu građe za čitanje koju bi zatvorske knjižnice trebale nabaviti kako bi zadovoljile potrebe svojih korisnika.
